HUM has a library of over 1000 books, for all ages, anything from Christian fiction to reference books. There are books on John Wesley and Methodism, parenting, teaching, crafts, and lots of other topics. Here are a few children's books on PRAYER that are available for borrowing:

The Prayer of Jabez for Little Ones God loves to answer prayers in surprising and wonderful ways. Based on the message of the multimillion-selling book The Prayer of Jabez, children will discover how God blesses, protects, and has great plans for them. This could be the lesson of a lifetime for your child.

My Very Own Book of The Lord's Prayer Although the Lord's Prayer may be familiar to them, many children do not understand the words or the full meaning of the prayer. This book helps explain the meaning of this special prayer and enables children to participate more fully whenever and wherever the Lord's Prayer is prayed.

Prayers for the Very Young Child This series of simple prayers presents basic Christian concepts in images, thoughts, and rhymes that will delight your 4- to 6-year-old and make daily prayer familiar and easy. The book is divided into three separate sections: Daily Prayer, Table Prayers, and Bedtime Prayers. All sections contain prayers that tell of God's grace and His love for us.

Tell Me About Prayer Includes:
  • Morning Prayers
  • Prayers for What I Want
  • Prayers to Help Us Listen

  • Prayers for Others
  • Prayers to Know God's Plan
  • Prayers in Trouble
  • Evening Prayers

Why Do People Pray? Because other boys and girls have wondered, this book has been written about praying. It talks about some of the people who pray and it talks about why they pray. As you read it, maybe you will understand a little bit more about praying. And maybe you will find praying to be very important.

A Child's Book of Prayer These beautiful prayers are as uncomplicated as childhood, yet their simplicity and charm will touch even adult readers. A short Bible verse accompanies each prayer, and together they illustrate God's love to even the smallest child. Through the lovely prayers and touching illustrations in this book, little ones will see how God cares for them.

Who Made God? Filled with warm, heartwarming illustrations that create a comforting atmosphere for talking with children about their deep questions about God, Who Made God? provides a special time of sharing with your child. Help your child discover answers about the One who loves us most of all -- our Heavenly Father.

Small Gifts in God's Hands For all those who feel they have too little talent, too little money, too little love, too little anything for God to use, this heartwarming story invites you to come sit on the hillside with those hungry thousands who wanted to be close to the Great Teacher and Healer. The surprise ending is a poignant reminder that no gift is ever too small ... when placed in God's hands.

A Wing and a Prayer Living the Christian life is an exciting adventure. Discover God's plan and purpose for your life through faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, just as Raimundo does in this story. Raimundo has not spoken since his parents were killed a year earlier, but a special box filled by a new friend in America helps to transform his life.

The Giving Tree This is a tender story, touched with sadness, aglow with consolation. Shel Silverstein has created a moving parable for readers of all ages that offers an affecting interpretation of the gift of giving and a serene acceptance of another's capacity to love in return.
