Welcome to the Howland United Methodist Church
Website

Hi! My name is Patty Davis. Chances are that if you call or visit Howland United Methodist (HUM) Church during the week, you'll talk to me. I'm the church secretary, so if you have a question about an activity at HUM, I'm either the one to ask or I know who is.

Here are the times for our Sunday morning activities:

Sunday Morning
Worship 9:30 a.m.
Nursery care 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Fellowship Time 10:30-10:45 a.m.
Sunday School
(all ages)
10:45-11:30 a.m.
Map to HUM
Our policy at HUM is that if the Howland local schools are closed, any evening activities at HUM will be cancelled.

Our People
Howland United Methodist Church is not just a church building; it is people. We have a phenomenal staff, but they would be the first to tell you that they can't do everything themselves. So meet some of the people who volunteer their time to keep the church going and growing.

Meet more of the special people in our church as we celebrate milestone occasions with them.
HUM Members Around the Community
  • "I would like to draw your attention to a select group of young children and their leaders who have for several years helped us honor the veteran’s grave sites at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Vienna. Led by Michael Taylor, Bob Sincich, Susan Taylor, and Karen Holler—Cub Scout Pack 122, Dens 3,7,8 and 15—and Girl Scouts Troop 159, helped us decorate over 1700 grave sites.

The members and officers of Vienna AMVETS Post 290 wish to extend a heartfelt thank you for your time and effort. It is a rewarding experience for young and old alike, and with the Scouts’ helps it always gets done. Thank you all so much.

Ray Riley, Post Commander, AMVETS Post 290"

  • "Thank you to everyone who donated goods and money for the Haiti Health Kits. Howland United Methodist was able to send 11 full kits and 8 partially filled kits (only missing one or two items). We also had some extras (a lot of washcloths!) to send along.

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) will be putting these kits to good use for ongoing events such as the Haiti and Chile earthquake recovery efforts. These kits are distributed to those who have been forced to leave their homes as a result of recent disasters.

    Thanks again for your generosity.

    Dawn Zwetzig"

  • "Thank you, church family, for your help with Family Promise in June. Despite the confusion over the number of people attending (we ended up with one family consisting of Mom, Dad, and five children), you were generous with your time, your money, your food donations, and your hosting meals with the preparation. The week went well. Any monetary donations left over will be put into escrow for Family Promise to be used the next time we host.

    We appreciate your help!

    Debbie Macino and Jan Rice"

  • "We all know what a demanding job ASP is for the staff - long hours, “whiney” volunteers, limited budget, etc.

But on the flip side there are many highs and joys. Melissa Headland just finished week four of eight as an ASP staff member and would love to hear from us. Melissa is doing well and is great at her job. Let’s show her our support. Please consider sending Melissa a card or letter, or package.

Her address is: ASP Wyoming Center-Guyan Valley, P. O. Box 455, Brenton, WV 24818"
